Shopify integration

Shopify is a cloud-based e-commerce platform that enables businesses of all sizes to create and manage online stores. With Shopify, merchants can design and customize their website, add products and manage inventory, process payments, and ship orders. Shopify also offers various tools and features to help businesses grow and market their online store.

Different partners already use Shopify to handle their e-commerce, including small and medium-sized businesses, large enterprises, and even non-profit organizations. These partners can leverage Shopify's extensive app store to add features like social media integration, email marketing, and customer support tools.

Glovo can use Shopify's API (Application Programming Interface) to retrieve product data and sync it with our platform. This allows Glovo to display accurate product information to our users and ensure that your catalog is up-to-date in real-time.

Get Credentials in Shopify

To connect and extract information from Shopify, Glovo needs to use Shopify's API. To use the API, Glovo needs to obtain API keys and credentials, which are required to authenticate and access Shopify's data. In order to get these credentials, you need to follow these steps

  1. Create a new app: Once you are logged in your Shopify partner account, navigate to the Apps section and click on "Create App" button.
  2. Configure the app settings: In the App setup page, provide a unique name for your app and select the appropriate app type based on your requirements. Choose whether you are developing the app for yourself or on behalf of clients, and provide any additional information as requested.
  3. Configure app permissions: In the same "App setup" page, scroll down to the "Admin API" section, and configure the permissions that your app requires to access Shopify's data. In this case, Glovo will require read access to your inventory and product information.
  4. Install the new app: After giving the proper permissions, proceed to install the app on your Shopify account
  5. Get access token for API. Once the app is installed, you'll be allowed to reveal the access token. You'll have to share with Glovo this access token, so our system can connect to your Shopify account.

Integration process

Once we have the access token, we'll begin the integration process:

  1. We will download your catalog, price, and stock information from Shopify and create a first menu in Glovo
  2. With your OK, we will create all production stores with the appropriate catalogs.
  3. Stock and prices will be processed every 6 hours
